Our boy is an overachiever.
We went in for our ultrasound and checkup on Friday. You know it's not a good sign when the sono tech asks, "So, how far along are you supposed to be?".
At this point, we should be measuring 33 weeks, give or take a little. So, imagine our surprise (and my panic) when Max's head measures 37 weeks! Of course, she could have been measuring at an odd angle, so don't panic just yet.
She moves and measures his belly - right on target, 33 weeks. She then measures his thigh bone - again, 37 weeks. This kid is going to be LONG! Then she tells us that he's probably around 5 pounds at this point.
Our OB has now told us that we might need to be prepared for a BIG baby, in which case they'll consider a C-section early (maybe even a couple of days earlier than Nov. 20th, when we're currently scheduled to induce).
We'll just have to wait and see how big Max decides he wants to be. Jon says I can't start planning his basketball career just yet.
Meanwhile, I'm having some not-so-fun side effects of going off the Metformin (high blood sugar here/there), so we may get to meet with a nutritionist this week to go on a modified diet for the next 5-6 weeks, to try to keep Max from growing even faster. At least is only a few weeks.
Not much else new to report, so here's Max's latest profile pic. Enjoy!
