Settling in

It's been almost two weeks since we went for our last OB checkup and were whisked away to deliver our little Max. With lots of help and support from the grandparents, we've been extremely well fed and are now pretty comfortable taking care of our guy. I'm recovering well, and Jon and I both are adjusting to our new, choppy sleep schedule.

Jon's family went home yesterday, and we enjoyed a quiet, relaxing time at home alone with Max. Here's hoping this somewhat manageable time continues for a little while longer.

Jon and I are both sad that he will be going back to work tomorrow, but luckily he still has lots of vacation time left this year, so he'll be able to take off a few days next week and around the holidays. I'll be off on leave until mid-January, so I think my main concern will be finding things to do to occupy my time during Max's naps (when I'm not sleeping myself). Jon says I should start playing games on the XBox 360 and Wii, so we can play together. We shall see. :)

Everyone has been asking to see more pictures of Max, so we FINALLY found time to get them uploaded to Flickr. You can find our full set of pictures here. We'll do our best to take pictures every few days or so, so you can see him grow as we do. We'll also try to update the blog when we can.

Thanks to everyone for all of their love and support as we've worked to bring this little miracle into our world. We can't wait for everyone to meet him in person!

Thanks for all the updates...glad everyone is doing well.

One cool thing you can do with pictures to give people a good idea of how fast Max is growing is to put him in something that has a static size, and keep taking pics of him in it - it can be any kind of chair or something that will hold him that you can guage his size against. my sis in law used a "duck chair"...at almost a year old, Opal hardly fits into it now ;) It's a real good way for those who are not seeing him in person to get an idea of how big he's getting!

Congrats!
