This has been a very eventful week for all of us! Max got a visit from Mimi and Pa-Paw over the weekend, and then a visit with Nan just yesterday. There's been a change in our furniture, a change in our sleeping habits, and some serious changes to our schedule.
Most of the week was fairly run-of-the-mill, save for the addition of rice cereal to Max's breakfast routine. He seems to be taking to it fairly well, though he does have a habit of exhaling right when the spoon hits his mouth. This produces a lovely spray of cereal that travels in the opposite of the intended direction. I guess he needs a bit more practice.
As the week moved along, we got a few good days, a few rough days, and then a day when Max decided to do the unthinkable. He slept for 8 hours on Friday night. We passed it off as a fluke and prepared for a visit from his grandparents. The visit heralded the return of some furniture we haven't seen in a while, and saw the removal of two of the last three furniture items remaining from my college apartment. If the mattress stays quiet, it might just get to stick around a little longer.
Max spent a good while smiling and providing good entertainment for everyone, which is always a good time. We took a trip to Target and found ourselves buying even more furniture (this time for the patio), which turned out to be exactly the same furniture that my sister bought for her house. Weird.
That night, Max slept for 9 hours. We were still in denial, so we ignored it.
Another day passed. 8 hours...then he awoke to a dirty diaper. Well, a series of them. Six or seven, I believe (I lost count). We were too busy with that to really think about the sleep. Later in the day he got a visit from his Nan, who spent several hours whistling at him and making him (and, by extension, all of us) laugh hysterically.
Then, he slept for another 8 hours and we freaked out about Canada labeling BPA (which is in the baby bottles we were using) a toxic substance.
It's been a very strange week.
