Now that Max has found himself in the lull between his birthday and Christmas, he's settling into a pretty usual routine and not doing much new stuff.
Okay, that's a lie. He's unstoppable. We have no idea what's coming every day.
The number of photos taken is certainly falling off (as to be expected), but that doesn't mean he's not doing entertaining things. It's just that some of them don't really translate to film. He's certainly learning quite a bit, as he can now recognize things by their name and point them out when we ask him where they are (balloon, kangaroo, tree, puzzle, etc.). He's also nearly perfected his penguin walk, which I presume will evolve eventually into a much more natural stride.
Aside from that, he's trying as hard as he can to make us laugh and smile at him on a daily basis. That's how they get you, you know...

There's also been a clear determination of what his new favorite toys are. Essentially, it's anything that does not belong to him, has buttons, and is outside of his play room.

In preparation for the cold winter months ahead, we also decided to buy him a hat.

I'm not sure how he managed to pawn it off on his mother, though...

Did I mention that he's giving water to his chair now?

Max requested that we send out his thanks for the birthday card he received from Dolly and Calvin.

And that's pretty much it...except for the shower, which I did not attend due to the fact that I have a Y chromosome and am not a cute baby. Note that I'm not complaining, since I spent the entire time playing video games instead. From what I heard, Max acted as a perfectly serviceable stand-in for me by spending the entire time mesmerized by a piece of electronic equipment.

You can see the rest of the photos (just a few more) from Max's week here. The baby shower photos can be found in their own set here. See you next week!
