Pre-Easter with Max

This past week and weekend, we had lots of excitement as we tried to take advantage of good weather (when we had it) and our current string of good health. The weather tried to conspire against us a bit, but fun was still had by all.

Last week, I finally decided that Max's curls, while adorable, were getting a tad bit unruly, so off we went to Snip-its for a haircut.

Um... why am I strapped in a chair???

Max, yet again, did pretty well. His haircut was just in time for a visit with Mimi and Pappaw!

We invited Mimi and Pappaw down on Saturday for Max's first Easter egg hunt at the park. It was a BEAUTIFUL day for a park outing. Except that I had the date wrong for the egg hunt (it was Sunday). Still, we made the best of the good weather and played at the park for a little while.

Guess who now likes to wear his own sunglasses!?

Chillin' on the jungle gym with Mimi

After we came back to the house, Max had fun hanging out with Mimi and Pappaw while Jon and I cooked dinner for everyone.

Of course, first he had to show off some of his new Easter clothes

What? It's a tie.

Then he had to show Pappaw "his" (really Jon's) iPod Touch.

See, Pappaw. You drag this button to the right, and it unlocks. (Seriously, he can unlock it himself.)

After dinner, we relaxed in the back yard for a bit. He even cooperated (a little) for another grandparent photo:

Cheese!

Sunday, we went down to the park for the actual Easter egg hunt. It was about 45 degrees outside, but the gusts of wind made it feel like it was 25. We braved the cold anyway, because we didn't want Max to miss out on the fun.

He especially liked looking at the animals.

Daddy, are chicks supposed to be orange?

When the egg hunt finally started, he wasn't quite sure what to do.

Hey, Mom, look! Someone tossed a bunch of eggs on the ground!

However, after a minute or two, he caught on, and then we couldn't stop him.

Yep, he was putting them in two at a time.

Hmmm... I see some more eggs over there.

Mommy, you see what's inside the eggs. I'm gonna go find some more.

Let's see... Fruit snacks, suckers, and stickers... When do I graduate to the good stuff?

Barrett cousins, beware. There's a little more competition for this Easter's egg hunt at the crawfish boil!

We hope everyone has a wonderful week and a blessed Easter weekend!
