Well, we've made it. It's Owen week. Today is our last day as a family of three. The nerve level in the house is definitely at his highest. We had planned to do several activities with Max this weekend, but circumstances beyond our control prevented that. Luckily, it ended up being a blessing in disguise.
All last week, we talked about our plans for the weekend. Trips to the park, to the carousel at the mall, to Braums for ice cream, to Mikey's for his birthday party. A whole weekend of spoiling Max rotten.
Enter the rain.
Jon grilled burgers in the rain on Friday, while Max and I watched from the window hoping he wouldn't be hit by lightning. It rained all weekend, so there went our plans for getting out. I also sat the wrong way on Saturday (who knew you could sit the wrong way) and essentially pulled my hip out of joint, so walking was extremely painful. Thus, we spent the majority of the weekend around the house.
In the end, staying home was considerably better. Max and Jon spent most of the day playing, chasing, wrestling, and Max and I shared some good snuggle time reading some new books.
Saturday night, the Dudeks (and Nona and Poppy Wyatt) were kind enough to come to our house to have Mikey's birthday party (Happy Birthday, Mikey!) with us here. It was great to share time with the Wyatts, since we haven't seen them in a while, and the boys were just too funny. As usual, they were totally oblivious to each other in the beginning. However, after dinner and cake, they started playing together and before long, they were cracking us all up with their antics. We definitely have to get the boys together more often after the Owen craziness subsides.
Slam
Oddly enough, this noise seemed to draw every adult into the room to watch.
Jump
Mikey was jumping off a stack of foam floor tiles, so Max had to show off his skills too.
We did get a few photos (it was dark, so a lot of them didn't turn out), which you can view here.
Sunday, other than having lunch out and sitting in the car while Jon grocery shopped, we stayed around the house again. Jon and Max baked cookies for Max to take to daycare, and we had a web chat with Emma, which was fun.
Luckily, my hip popped back into place somewhat halfway through the day, so I was able to walk with less pain than Saturday. It popped again last night, so I'm now able to walk almost pain-free! Yay! Hopefully I'll stay this way for the next day, so we can truly enjoy our last day before Owen arrives.
Owen
Christy, in the John Hurt way.
Taking Max to daycare this morning was hard (I'll admit it, I cried), but it is good for him to be with his friends and in his routine this week, as much as he can be. It's also good for us to have a day home to relax, while we get ready for the rest of the week.
Have a great week, everyone! We'll update later tomorrow with photos of our new family of four!

Great video. Love the laughing boys. Just too funny. So glad there were no injuries. In my day we played the same game with a hammer and only one child ended up laughing. Usually not me but sometimes.
