Sorry bout that.

Easter usually means a trip to see the family down in Houston, and this year was no different. We somehow managed to survive the car trip down without too many child-related mishaps.

I credit the hat for our success.

This year we did things a little differently. Instead of diving straight into some giant vats of crawfish, we made a stop over for cousin Kyle's 3rd birthday party.

I think she's excited about the party.

Max loved spending some time with his cousins, and was especially impressed at the wildlife they have on hand in their backyard.

Owen didn't seem to do too badly either.

Then, of course, the boil. Madhouse though it might have been, we did manage to get a bunch of the grandkids together for a group photo.

Trust me. This is as good as it got.

Then the time came for egg hunting.

Seriously? In the bushes? Amateurs.

This bounty is sufficient.

Amidst all the chaos, we managed to coax someone into snapping a family photo.

Once again, good as it got.

Owen, of course, had his own kind of fun while hanging out with his cousin Sam. This is a story that can only really be expressed in a three part play.

Max and Barrett got along a little better.

Sunday brought us to church, which of course meant dressing up to goof off.

Excellent church face. Really.

After all the candy was collected and loaded into the car, we made our way back home. Somewhere along the way Owen's feeding coincided with a stop somewhere that happened to have an abundance of bluebonnets. We decided to take advantage. The boys, of course, were completely uncooperative.

Fine, I'll smell it.

And with that, we're done. I'm not sure how much we captured in the last week, but I'm sure I can scrounge enough up for a blog post. Who knows, I might even be able to get it done before the end of the week. I guess we'll see.
