More Grandparents (and a workbench)

As is our typical pattern, we are late with this post. As is also becoming somewhat of a pattern, the reason is that we keep finding ourselves taking weekend trips to see grandparents without any down time in between. I guess it's tough to help ourselves, since the kids seem to enjoy themselves so much.

That's not to say we don't enjoy ourselves, of course. It gives us an excellent opportunity to show off the amusing things we find in our wardrobe.

We are all wearing the same shirt. I promise. Owen just wanted to hide his so he didn't look as ridiculous as the rest of us.

It also gives us an opportunity to laugh at the way both of our sons react (a mixture of hyperactivity and glee) to small domesticated animals.

Who needs cousins when Madison is around?

Max spent the bulk of his time down there playing with his cousin Emma. This pleased him greatly.

She was kind enough to cook a full two-course meal for Max and I. Max is pretending to eat it with a spoon.

Owen somehow managed to get his hands on dessert.

They also partook of the most ancient and honored of all cousin bonding experiences. Those of you with knowledge of ancient times know how important this is to having a strong family relationship.

Step 2: Get your cousin to show you his or her belly button.

Step 4: TICKLE THE BELLY BUTTON!

There was also ample pool time for everyone.

Learning to blow bubbles is the first step towards olympic level swimming ability.

When the heat of the outdoors became too much for the guy wielding the camera, I retreated inside to find my other son discovering just how much noise he can make.

WHY DON'T WE HAVE THESE AT HOME?!

Note the motion blur.

Those were pretty interesting, but the thing he found most amusing was a baby doll that giggled whenever you squeezed its belly.

You couldn't stop him from laughing if you tried.

He also spent a little time showing off his ability to pull himself up to standing anywhere he could manage to find the leverage to do so.

I think Oreo changed her mind about coming inside.

Oooooo, fancy reflection.

Not a bad way to spend a weekend, that's for sure.

Typically we try to cover the happenings of the week along with the weekend, but we didn't get very many photos to share for that week. We did manage to get this one, though, which illustrates how our lives are going to go for the next...I don't know, probably 18 plus years.

This does not belong to me!

Going to be fun teaching these two how to share.

If you want to see the rest of the photos from the week, you can click here. With any luck, our next round will include a nice video supplement. We shall see.
