We're fresh in from our slightly extended vacation to the north, but in our rush to get things ready for the trip we forgot to finish up our post last week. Sadly, this means a slight delay for those waiting for photos from the trip. We'll try to get through them as fast as we can (all 600 of them).

Now that I've finished properly stretching my blogging fingers, I can face the task at hand. Five days. Two cities. Three states. Hours and hours of traffic and planes. Over a hundred photos. Back in the day, we'd break something like this into multiple posts. Not this time. We're going to push through the whole weekend even if it makes this our longest post to date.

So we posted about our trip to Chicago, then we posted about Owen's birthday week. The week in between seems to have been lost in the shuffle, which means I get to fire up the wayback machine and pre-date this one. To get the full effect, you should make an appropriately sci-fi whooshing noise to commemorate this amazing time traveling event.

Just let me know when you're done. I can wait.

Today we celebrated Owen's first birthday. He has been sick/feverish for most of the last week, so we were excited that Owen had his first fever-free day on his birthday. Too bad it wasn't all good news today. We still managed to enjoy the day, and look forward to celebrating his birthday again with family and friends on Saturday.
