I emerged from my extended Nyquil coma to find that our blog has fallen into disrepair. Photos? Unposted. Updates? Undone. Caption jokes? Unmade. I don't know where I got it, but I brought it home and it spread. Then came the pink eye (luckily that stayed with Max). Then came the vertigo (which got Christy this time). I figure once the giant swarm of locusts is done eating our landscaping we'll be out of the woods.

While we huddle inside, I suppose I can try to do some catch-up work. Turns out that when Owen turned one we actually decided to throw him a party. We should probably talk about that.

After a big week full of photos, somehow we managed to have a week almost entirely devoid of major activity. This of course means we have very few photos to share with you for this catch-up post. Few is more than zero, though, so I guess we'll just forge ahead.

Last week was a bit more eventful than our lazy week. We had scheduled appointments and everything! Thanks to some shifts in the weather it's actually been quite pleasant outdoors, so we even had a chance to take a trip out to see some big round orange things.

Despite a bit of a stumble yesterday, things are evening out around here so I actually have some time to put a post together. It feels kind of weird to do one of these on time. Last week was generally filled with excellent weather and, for me, yet another bout with this endless sickness. Thankfully most of that faded away by the weekend.

As is our tradition around here, we've gone and found ourselves running behind yet again. This time it really wasn't our fault! We had a birthday party to prepare for and a software update that made it tough to get our photos uploaded and a squid took over our living room and leave me alone because I'm sick. We'll see what we can do about catching up now that things are (somewhat) calmer.

Happy Halloween weekend, everyone! We hope you all have had as much fun as we have so far this weekend! I've love to share the photos with you, but Jon is persnickety and insists that we provide blog posts in chronological order. Go figure.

After birthday parties for the last three weekends in a row, you would think we'd take a weekend off to rest, right? Um, no. It is Halloween weekend, so of course we had to cram as many additional parties as we could into the last crazy weekend in October. Hopefully Max is too exhausted to be scarred for life (more on that later).
