After we finished sleeping off our turkey comas, we rolled right out of bed into a fairly routine week. Run the kids to school, work through the day, pick the kids up, eat some dinner, play a little, and bed. The weekend, however, saw us running all over the place and enjoying a decent bit of time with both family and friends.
As far as the routine, it's amazing how time flies. It's been six weeks since Owen started day care, and he's gone from crying at the thought of us letting him go to being mostly okay with the whole thing. He still gets a little upset as the day wears on, but in a few more weeks he might actually start to enjoy himself. Thankfully his brother usually gets a chance to drop in and cheer him up if he gets too upset.
Beyond school, we've been working ever closer to getting Max completely out of his pull-ups. Over the weekend, we finally took the plunge and let him start sleeping through the night without them. So far he's been doing pretty well, aside from the part where he can't drink any water before we put him to bed.
Once the school week was over, we headed out to catch Jayden's soccer game. Unfortunately, we showed up a little late, but that didn't stop the kids from having a good time.
Once the game wrapped up, we packed the kids up in the car and headed over to see our good buddy Mikey and his new brother, Alex. Usually this just means some goofing off with Max and Mikey, but Owen seems to have grown into his own phase of goofiness.
Meanwhile, in a room nearby, Max and Mikey took advantage of a newly set up media room.
I took a break from oohing and aahing over the electronics to do a little cooing over the new addition to the Dudek clan.
After the boys finished watching Pixar shorts on the big screen, we all gathered downstairs to enjoy some pizza. The best course of action after that was clearly to let the boys bounce up and down some more.
After all that excitement, we decided to spend our Sunday at home. Owen spent the time wisely, walking around everywhere (he can now stand up without holding on to anything) and playing with one of the few things he knows how to say.
Max spent the day doing crafty things, watching a little TV, and otherwise just relaxing.
Good week, really. Plenty of time to relax, a decent amount of time out and about, and some major moves forward for the kids. If you want to see the rest of the photos from the week, click here. Guess that pretty much catches us up for now. We'll see if I can get another entry up this week and keep things in order around here.
