A Ribbon

I'll be adding a weekly update tomorrow, but today Max did something that earned him an award and we thought we'd give him a chance to show it off to everyone.

Most Thursdays, we head out to Max's swim school to get in some practice time. Today it seems like everything just fell into place for him. He was swimming about a quarter of the way across the pool without any floating helpers or flippers, and then he did something I've never seen him do before. I've been telling him how important it was for him to learn to swim back to the side in case he falls into a pool. Today he was very reluctant to jump off the side at all, but once I'd coaxed him into it he jumped in, turned around, and swam right back to the side.

Turns out you get a ribbon for that!

When I was getting him dried off, he said, "I'm very proud of me."

So are we, buddy.

Way to go Max! Can't wait to see those swimming skills at Nan's house this summer!
