The Long Weekend

The boys had a couple of days off school last week, so we decided to use some vacation days at work and turn it into a long family weekend. We didn't make any travel plans, but we did somehow manage to keep everyone entertained for four whole days.

Everything began innocently enough when we all sat down for a nice breakfast on Thursday. This would be Owen's first exposure to french toast, but we assumed he'd be down with it since we made it with raisin bread. About halfway through, he asked me to move my plate over a little closer to him so he could dip his toast into my syrup. He then carefully put all of his french toast next to my french toast...

…then he stole my plate.

…and gave me this look when I had the audacity to ask what he thought he was doing.

DO NOT TRY TO CHANGE THE SUBJECT THAT WAS MY FRENCH TOAST.

Max was equally hilarious.

We then packed the kids up in the car and drove out to the Indoor Safari Park so they could spend some time with their cousins.

He insisted that I take his picture with the giant Lego guy.

Then he had the least excited possible expression while riding a robotic elephant.

Then he had a slightly happier face while riding this train with Blakeley.

After his morning french toast caper, Owen was a bit more subdued and bored with the whole thing.

He didn't let that keep him from enjoying a quick round of golf.

Before we knew it, we'd used up a couple of hours and had to head out for lunch and naptime.

Nice try. We're not leaving you here.

Day two rolled around and we decided to take the kids out again so they could work off some of their excess energy. Luckily we chose a spot that Owen was a little more excited about.

There was plenty to do, so we stayed a little longer and...

…until we were completely worn out and ready to go home.

Still not going to work.

Compared to the first two days, Saturday and Sunday were pretty sedate. It's not that we didn't do anything, it's that we didn't do anything too taxing.

We made some cookies.

We bought some donuts.

We made some faces.

We refused to let mommy use the computer in peace.

Then we drew the weekend to a close and prepared ourselves for another exciting week. We knew it was going to be a big one, since both boys would move up into new classes on Monday. We'll talk a little more about that next week.

That'll just about do it, but after I give you the link to the rest of the photos I actually have a couple of videos to dole out this week.

Gym Free Play

Owen recently lost interest in Little Gym, but this place seemed to suit him just fine.

Clothesline

Managed to get a video this time around. Max is now officially a Super Aquatot.

Have a good week, everyone!
