Hippies and Ducks

We're now recovering from Owen's birthday party (more on that next time) and I'm just now finding some time to get one of these done. Last week we celebrated Mimi's birthday party, which meant a trip up to Sherman and a bit of a wardrobe change.

I said a bit. That's more than a bit.

Dial it down one more notch.

Perfect.

We managed to get Owen in on it a little too.

So we spent the afternoon hanging out with the family for this 60s theme party.

We chilled with the cousins.

We found that we're much less afraid of dogs when they're appropriately sized.

…at least, one of them is.

We played some air hockey.

Then we played some more air hockey.

We demanded to play what everyone else was playing.

We tried to come up with creative ways to break this thing.

We got a mostly decent family photo with Derek Zoolander.

We "helped" Mimi open her presents.

Then we got ourselves out of the house for a little bit. The weather was still pretty warm, but the kids didn't seem to mind.

Granted, they might have been a little distracted.

Owen and Max ran around the backyard sliding and messing around in the sandbox for the rest of the afternoon. At one point we got out Tanner's ride-on tractor and let the kids ride around the yard. Unfortunately, the battery was a bit low so it didn't last long. Didn't take long for the mechanics to get on the job.

Oooh, that's gonna cost ya…

Once we were all well and truly exhausted, we headed out to prepare for a nice lazy Sunday. When we woke up, though, we found that the temperature was so nice that we couldn't just waste it. After months of 100+ degree days, it was finally nice enough for us to enjoy some real time outside.

Owen is not so sure about this prison park.

Max insisted on wearing the glasses for another day. They turn the sky purple!

We hung out at the park for a little bit, then we took a drive over to the lake so Max could get back to one of his favorite activities.

Fishin'.

Owen was more into the whole duck feeding thing.

QUACK QUACK QUACK.

A crazy weekend, but certainly an entertaining one. For more photos of filthy hippies, you can click here. If you're looking for something with a little more motion, I managed to get a video together for you.

Air Hockey

Too bad we don't have room in the house for one of these.

Have a good week, everyone!
